Tell us about your family.
My wife, Kristin, and I got married on January 26, 2007. She is beautiful, compassionate, and very talented. She is particularly good at things which I am terrible at, which is great.
My parents are still two of my biggest role models. My mom loves cooking and gardening, my dad has a great speaking voice and drives a moped. I also have a younger brother John who is super cool, very fun, and loves Jesus, books and cardigan sweaters. My younger sisters, Erin and Annie, are twins, comedic geniuses, crazy talented, and extremely caring.
I also have a wonderful family-in-law including a father, mother, brother, sister, and super adorable niece. We all love playing badminton, cornhole and cards while vacationing at the lake!
How did you end up at New Life Church?
When I first came to the University of Michigan I felt like I should go to church, so one day I google searched "church in Ann Arbor" and New Life came up. It looked cool so I decided to check it out.
Why are you still here?
From the first time I walked in I was blown away by people's authenticity, genuineness and passion. I came by myself the first time and someone took the time to talk to me and make me feel welcome. It has only gotten better from there. I was embraced by the community and met where I was at. People loved me in grace and truth. God brought me through some difficult stuff in my first couple years at college and the community at New Life walked right beside me the whole way. Ultimately, after graduating I felt called to come back and give back to a church that God has used very powerfully in my life.
What do you do here?
Currently I shadow the one and only Kevin Armstrong. It is sweet, he is a great mentor and I am learning a ton. Ultimately, I will be working with the HillEast New Life Team and helping with projects in El Salvador.
