WHO:

New Life Church is working with Great Commission Latin America (GCLA) to partner with 2 sister churches in El Salvador. One team is heading to La Libertad on Spring Break and the 2nd team will be going to San Salvador after the UofM Winter semester.

The La Libertad Great Commission Church is a community church of about 150 people who are reaching out to their local community, much of whom live in poverty and struggle to provide for themselves and children. Pastor, Ivo Claros, who has himself struggled with the health and education of his children, wants to challenge you to come to La Libertad and work shoulder-to-shoulder with his church to change the conditions there with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and by meeting physical needs.
The partnerships with these churches are critical to our church's vision for international missions and we are excited to continue to develop this relationship with a group of New Lifer's over Spring Break!

WHERE:

La Libertad is a small fishing village on the west coast of El Salvador, along the Pacific Ocean. For those who have been there in past years know how amazingly beautiful it is. The church is filled with wonderful, loving people who are friendly and also love to serve God. Their church service is much like New Life, very rockin', just in Spanish!

WHAT:

As missionaries from New Life, our purpose is to take one week to support the local church as best we can in their continuing efforts for the Kingdom. Throughout our week some of the opportunities we may be given are to: teach computer and English classes to high school students, share the gospel in the community, throw a party for the children of the community, assist them in their nutrition clinic efforts, ongoing reconstruction work, provide and deliver food to the poor and much more! We will also take a one day excursion to experience the rich El Salvadoran culture. Not only do you get to be on mission for God's kingdom with awesome people, but you get to do it in a tropical location!

HOW MUCH:

Estimated Trip Cost: $1600 (cost is still tentative depending on final ticket prices - includes Airfare, Hotel, transportation in El Salvador, food and emergency medical and evacuation insurance during the trip)

FAQ:

Worried about cost? We will help you with support raising!
Never shared the Gospel before? That's totally fine! We will pair you with an experienced person and help you learn!
Don't know Spanish? That's ok, we'll have local translators with us the whole time!
Will we have any mission training before we go? Yes, as a part of the team, we have several mandatory training sessions prior to our Spring Break trip (January – February) that will help equip you with understanding the culture, travel, evangelism and team building.
