Tell us about your family.
I grew up in Troy, MI and my parents still live there. My mother's name is Flo, and she is very fun, loves to talk, especially about me and my sibilings... most of what she says is reliable. If you want a story to spread through my whole family, tell my mom. My Dad loves sports and staying in shape. Like a good man, he also is often fixing things around the house. If you are ever around my family though, beware of my Dad because he also is a sharp shooter... with his camera. There is no memory card large enough for this man. I also have two siblings: an older sister and my younger brother. Unlike me and my brother, my sister is of a more pale complexion and dons an abnormal amount of curly hair. She teachers currently out in the shiny light of Las Vegas. My Brother, just like my sister and I, is a wolverine though he still has a couple years left. If he is not studying nuclear engineering or at his church, you most likely will find him running down some frisbee playing ultimate on campus.
How did you end up at New Life Church?
My sister went here. She invited me to go with her. So I came here instead of going to the Catholic Church on campus that I planned on attending. After my initial fear that I was being converted to a new type of religion that used electric guitars and allowed jeans in church, I learned New Life was a great church that loved God and loved people to the best of their ability. So I decided to stay.
Why are you still here?
The Lord. No seriously. Through my undergrad, especially during my last two years, God really captured my heart and cause me to fall in love with him and yearn to share His love with others. I found myself serving in a couple leadership roles in the church and my senior year, believed the Lord had called me to go into full time ministry focusing on college students. This is very clearly one thing that God has made me to do.
What do you do here?
I do Staff. I am an official worker of New Life Church. Currently that involves raising funds so that I can earn a living doing this work. After enough funds are raised, I will work on campus interacting with the students most likely from the North campus area. I will decisple and lead the students there in their own walks with Christ, as well as help encourage outreach mindedness and aid in implementing activities that will reach those on campus who don't know the life available to them through Christ.
